Voted New Orleans' Best Doula

Amanda has been fascinated and inspired by pregnancy, birth, and women’s health long before she became a mother. As a devoted nurse, Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Doula, Childbirth Educator, and Mother of three, she draws from experience and compassion when supporting individuals who are beginning their own journey into parenthood.

She believes pregnancy is a time to nurture, cherish, and connect with one’s self and baby, as well as celebrate the growing family. And above all else, you deserve respectful care and to feel loved, cared for, and supported throughout your birth.

She believes birth to be an incredible rite-of-passage. The births of her own children are the most powerful experiences in her life, and she found herself redefined by each labor and birth. Her path has led her to be a committed force in the New Orleans area community as a birth advocate, birth and postpartum doula, birth educator, placenta encapsulator, and lactation consultant.

Amanda is a survivor of postpartum anxiety and depression, has advanced training in VBAC, and is co-founder of Love What You Doula and BEST Doula Training, and the founder of Nola Nesting, LLC.

Amanda is available to interview on specific request.

Pregnancy is a uniquely intimate relationship between two people. All of us luxuriate in this relationship once, and half of us are lucky enough to be able to do it all over again a second time, from the other side as it were. Never again outside of pregnancy can we be so truly intwined with someone else, no matter how hard we try.
