Inka Rudnycka, Birth and Postpartum Doula

A native of Canada, Inka lived in the Northeast before relocating to New Orleans in 2016. She loves many things about living in New Orleans, and is thrilled that there is such a vibrant doula community here. Inka has been interested in birth issues since
the arrival of her own two sons. Her initial doula training took place in New York City and she has worked in the Boston area, the Bay Area of California, and in Canada. She has experience both as a birth and as a postpartum doula, and the integration of prenatal and postpartum issues is a strong interest of hers. Inka is passionate about continuing education. She is a professional member of Evidence Based Birth and VBAC Facts. It is important to her to keep up with the latest research so that she can provide the best service to her clients. Having recently attended a workshop on Healing Touch for Babies, Inka plans to pursue
further study of this technique as one of her next steps. She hopes to offer further benefits to her clients using this method.
Inka has extensive experience as a music teacher. Once she earned her master’s in piano at Juilliard, she taught piano, ear training, recorder and general music. Her favorite age group are the very youngest children, and she has taught classes with
babies as young as four months. She sings in the Symphony Chorus of New Orleans, performs with the St. Andrew’s Hand Bell Ringers and takes organ and tap dancing lessons. She is a great believer in the calming and healing power of singing and likes to use it in her doula work.
